Freedom

Conversion of the DS1 Adventure Freedom to DS4

Jason, this is definitely something you can help with; the adventure is under the above link. Flip, you’re more than welcome to contribute as well. To create the monster cards, I used Power2ool.

This adventure is ongoing, so any help would be appreciated.

Part One

XP totals of the (monsters? What’s the 4e word?) the characters are likely to fight are included, but note that the party is not expected to win these encounters, so only award XP for those creatures actually defeated.

A—Elf Brawl

Encounter Level 5 (1200 XP)

Setup

This encounter includes the following creatures.
Prithen and Nandlex, elves
2 minor templars
4 half-giant guards
Orman of the Waste

Refer to Freedom, Part 1A for details of the encounter.

Prithen and nandlex 2 minor templars 4 half giant guards

Tactics

The elves use peddler’s command to set each other up for tag team as often as possible. If the characters draw weapons, the elves use peddler’s command in conjunction with double dealing whenever they can.

When the patrol arrives, the guards charge in, while the templars hang back and use eldritch cage whenever possible. They are not very concerned with trying to avoid getting elves, guards, or even each other in its area of effect.

B—Serious Offense

Encounter Level 8 (1800 XP)

Setup

This encounter includes the following creatures.
Verrasi of Minthur, minor noble
3 mul gladiators

Refer to Freedom, Part 1B for details of the encounter.

3 mul gladiators Minor noble 2 minor templars 4 half giant guards

Hamash, Mul slave

Tactics

The gladiators will not enter combat unless attacked by the PCs, or unless the PCs physically threaten Verrasi. They will not attack the templar patrol in any case. The mul slave will defend himself if the PCs attack, but will not enter combat otherwise, although he may throw ruined fruit at them if they seem to be losing. The templar patrol will not attack the PCs unless they resist arrest. If the patrol seems to be losing, the templar will call for an additional patrol, which will arrive two rounds later.
